발롱도르는 '프랑스 풋볼'이라는 프랑스 일간지에서 단독으로 주관하여 축구 선수에게 주는 가장 권위있는 개인상으로, 월드컵 본선 진출 경험이 있는 96개국 1명의 기자단 투표로 주인공을 가리는 방식입니다.

 

프랑스 풋볼은 발롱도르 수상 후보자를 23명에서 30명으로 늘리되 최종 후보 3명을 따로 발표하지 않는다고 합니다.
